Getting a mortgage is a big moment. But what happens after the mortgage is agreed can be just as important and it's the part that often gets overlooked.

That's where Danielle comes in.

As Protection Manager at Endurance Mortgages, Danielle makes sure clients don't just get the keys to their home, they get the peace of mind that comes with knowing they're properly covered if life doesn't go to plan.

A Career Built Around People

Danielle brings over a decade of experience to her role. More than ten years as an Executive Assistant gave her an exceptional eye for detail and a calm, considered approach to complex situations. Her time in financial services as a Client Relations Manager added real industry knowledge and, just as importantly, the ability to talk about it in a way that actually makes sense to people.

That combination of meticulous, experienced, and genuinely good with people is exactly what the protection conversation needs.

What Danielle Actually Does

Protection can feel abstract until you need it. Danielle cuts through that.

She works with each client to understand their individual circumstances - their income, their family situation, their financial commitments - and finds the right cover to match. Not the most expensive option. Not a one-size-fits-all policy. The right one, for that person, at that point in their life.

For many clients, the conversation with Danielle is the first time anyone has properly explained what protection means in practical terms, and what it would do for them if the unexpected happened.

Why This Role Matters

Your mortgage is likely the biggest financial commitment of your life. The monthly payment must keep being made regardless of what happens. Protection is what makes sure it can.

Having someone dedicated to that conversation, someone who knows the market, understands the products, and genuinely takes the time, makes a real difference. Danielle is that person at Endurance Mortgages.

We sat down with Danielle to hear more about her role and what she loves about working with clients.

Danielle, Protection Manager, Endurance Mortgages
"When I make a recommendation,  it’s about making sure families have a plan when life doesn’t go to plan." — Danielle, Protection Manager, Endurance Mortgages

Question 1: A lot of people hear the word "protection" and immediately think it doesn't apply to them, that it's something other people need. What would you say to someone who feels that way, and what's the conversation that usually changes their mind?

Danielle: “Many people think that protection is for older people but when we start talking about their day-to-day life, how the mortgage or rent is paid, how their bills are covered or how their family would cope financially if they were unable to work or passed away unexpectedly, the conversation becomes more real to them. That usually changes the perspective for them. A lot of people insurer their phone’s, their cars, even holidays but very few stop to consider they would manage financially if they lost their income. Protection isn’t about expecting the worst to happen, it’s about having a plan in place, so you and your loved ones have financially security and peace of mind.”

Question 2: Can you walk us through what a typical first conversation with a client looks like? What do you ask them, and how do you go about finding the right cover for their situation?

Danielle: “A typical first conversation is to understand both their financial responsibilities and their priorities. Some clients are focused on ensuring their mortgage is paid off, while others want to protect their family's lifestyle, provide for their children's future, or protect their income. Once I have a clear picture of their circumstances, I explain the different types of protection available and how each one could help. I then research the market to find solutions that best fit their needs, budget, and long-term goals. My role is to cut through the complexity, explain everything in clear, straightforward language, and help clients make informed decisions without feeling overwhelmed.

Ultimately, the right protection isn't about buying the most cover, it's about having the right cover in place, tailored to your individual circumstances, so you can have confidence that you and your loved ones are protected if life doesn't go according to plan.”

Question 3: Is there a moment from your time at Endurance Mortgages that has stayed with you, a client situation where having the right protection in place made a real difference, or where you were able to help someone feel genuinely secure for the first time?

Danielle: “One situation that has stayed with me involved a client who initially felt they didn't need protection because they were healthy, financially responsible, and had never really considered anything going wrong. During our conversations, we explored what would happen if they were unable to work for an extended period due to illness. Like many people, they quickly realised that while they had some savings, they wouldn't last nearly as long as they expected if their income stopped.

We arranged a protection package that gave them the reassurance that their mortgage, bills, and family commitments would be covered if they ever faced the unexpected. What stood out to me wasn't necessarily the policy itself, but the relief they felt once everything was in place. They told me it was the first time they had genuinely felt confident that their family would be financially secure no matter what life threw at them.

When clients understand the value of it and leave feeling reassured rather than worried, you know you've made a real difference. For me, it's about helping people take control of the uncertainties in life and giving them the peace of mind that comes from knowing they have a plan in place for whatever the future may bring.”

If you'd like to talk through your protection needs, whether you're buying, remortgaging, or just want to check your cover is right, Danielle is here to help.
